To access Glen Camp by bicycle, start at the Five Brooks Trailhead, follow the Stewart Trail to the Glen Trail, then north to the Glen Camp Loop, and finish by descending to Glen Camp. The easiest approach is 4.5 miles via Bear Valley Trail (Five Brooks Trailhead) and Glen Trail. The hike to the campground is through a dense forest. Glen Camp has 12 primitive tent-only (walk-in) campsites and 3 group sites in a wooded valley protected from ocean breezes. You can also hike/bike to the campground on a relatively flat 2.8 miles on the Coast Trail. The easiest hike to Coast camp is starting from the Laguna Trail just past the hostel and continues for 1.8 miles to the campground. Each campsite has a table, food locker and BBQ grill. Coast Camp has drinking water and vault toilets. Equestrian facilities are also available for horse campers. The Seashore offers spectacular hiking and biking trails through dense forests and grasslands and along expansive sand beaches and coastline.Ĭoast Camp has 14 back country campsites on an open grassy bluff about 200 yards above the beach. There is also a boat-in campground available on the westside of Tomales Bay. Exit Bear Valley Road (west) from Highway 1. Parking for day and back-country use is at the Bear Valley Visitor center. All four back-country campgrounds can only be accessed by hiking, riding bikes or a horse. It features 4 back-country (hike-to) campgrounds including Coast Camp, Glen Camp, Sky Camp and Wildcat Camp. Point Reyes National Seashore is located about an hour’s drive north from the San Francisco Bay area.
